2023

Lucas Ratton, a prominent figure in tribal art in Paris, entrusted Sandra Benhamou with the renovation and programming for 2023 of his gallery in Saint-Tropez. The spaces of this village house, located near Place des Lices, have been thoughtfully reimagined. For the scenography, Sandra Benhamou drew inspiration from the archives of Charles Ratton, Lucas’s great-uncle and a fellow friend of the Surrealists, as well as from major gallery exhibitions in the 1930s from Paris to New York.

She then curated a selection of artworks and design pieces alongside objects from the Lucas Ratton Gallery, sourcing from the collections of partner galleries: Mennour, Galerie Kreo, Jacques Lacoste, Downtown Laffanour, Chenel, Karsten Greve, Mitterand, Desprez Breheret, Romain Morandi, Dina Vierny, and 2021 Design. Among the featured artists in the exhibition are: José Zanine Caldas, Jean Touret, Maurice Pré, Jasper Morrison, Dan Pollock, Tadashi Kawamata, Robert Couturier, Philolaos, Catherine Lee, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, Alicja Kwade, Marie Hazard and Georgia Russell.
